    Abstract:

Abstract:Chromium is one of the most scarce mineral resources in China. For a long time, its need has been mainly met by imports, and it is very difficult to guarantee the security of resources. China has hence attached great importance to the chromite ore prospecting. Since 2006, China Geological Survey has implemented the plan of potential evaluation for 25 kinds of important mineral resources, including Cr. Based on the research on the metallogenic regularity of chromium, this paper preliminarily assigned chromium deposits in China to 12 large ore concentration areas. Meanwhile, based on the most recent progress and data obtained in recent years, the authors hold that Lhobasar, Dalabute and Hegenshan areas are the most important concentration areas in China. This paper describes the three most important ore concentration areas in detail, and discusses their resource potentials separately.
