Abstract:Scientific data form the basis of scientific and technological innovation and valuable scientific and technological information resources. Protection of intellectual property rights and promotion of broad sharing of data have long been a contradictory problem in the field of scientific data. Data publishing (publishing of integrated metadata, entity data, data papers) is an effective mechanism to solve this problem. By publishing integrated metadata, entity data and data papers, the "Global Geological Data Publishing System" (in Chinese and English) realizes scientific communication and sharing mechanisms through the internet and plays an important role in protecting data intellectual property and promoting data sharing as well. This system will enable geologists worldwide to share scientific data and provide a database for scientific and technological innovation in the geological field. Based on the concept of data publishing, this paper introduces global geological data publishing and discusses the significance of data sharing.

Abstract:The 1:5000000 International Geological Map of Asia (IGMA5000) under the aegis of the Commission for the Geological Map of the World (CGMW) is a cooperative project which involves more than 100 geologists from 4 subcommissions of CGMW as well as geological surveys and institutions of 20 Asian and European countries. IGMA5000 is the first digital Asian geological map built on the ArcGIS platform and compiled in accordance with international standards and also the first map that displays the off-shore and on-shore geology within the map area, and therefore the compilation of the map is extremely arduous and challenging. The map area covers whole Asia and its adjacent regions from the Alps in the west to the Mariana Trench in the east, and from the Arctic Ocean in the north to the Java Trench in the south. The amount of data in the spatial database is 2.14 GB. The paper introduced the basic construction of ICMA5000. Its successful completion will surely lay a solid foundation for researches on the tectonics, metallogeny, resources and geological environment of Asia.

Abstract:Tongling ore district is one of the most well-known Cu-Au-Fe producing areas in China, where the mineralization is closely related to magmatism. The Shizishan magmatichydrothermal system is developed extensively in the Tongling ore district and has been well studied. Major whole-rock and trace element data comes from 34 rock samples of ore-related intrusions, microthermometry data of 32 fluid inclusion samples, trace element and REE data of 5 fluid inclusions of quartz samples, C-H-O is otopic data of 28 samples, and sulfur isotope data of 27 samples from representative deposits in the Tongling district. The Shizishan magmatic-hydrothermal system dataset probably reflects the characteristics of magmatic activities, the source and origin of ore-forming fluids and that of ore-forming materials.

Abstract:The western Qinling orogenic belt is located in the northeastern margin of the QinghaiTibet Plateau, and its lithosphere structure and changes record the deep process information of the plateau to the northeast. The western Qinling orogenic belt is also a prospect for resource development in China. Especially because of the shortage of global oil, China's petroleum geology has accelerated the exploration in new areas. The western Qinling orogenic belt and both its basins are listed as one of the most worthy of oil and gas exploration strategic constituencies. On the basis of field observation, important geological bodies along the deep seismic reflection profiles across the West Qinling Mountains and the Linxia basin in southern Qilian were sampled. Zircon U-Pb geology chronology, whole rock elements and isotope (Sr and Nd) composition of the test work resulted in a dataset containing three data tables, including the zircons LA-MC-ICP-MS of magmatic rocks from the western Qinling orogenic belt and the Linxia basin (a total of 7 test samples, 145 test points, the test accuracy of (2σ) are 2%), major and trace elements of investigated magmatic rocks (a total of 33 test samples, each sample with 69 test items, the content of more than 10×10-6 elements with test accuracy of 5%, and less than 10×10-6 element accuracy of 10%), and whole-rock Sr and Nd isotopic data for magmatic rocks(Sr±0.000010 (n=18) and Nd±0.000011 (n=18), respectively, in 27 test samples from the western Qinling orogenic belt and the Linxia basin). These data are used to determine the ages and geochemical properties of different magmatic rocks, in order to better explain the tectonic significance represented by the deep geological structure revealed by the seismic reflection profile.

Abstract:The mineralization belt is a mineralized geological unit with abundant mineral resources. The dataset of major mineralization belts of China's key solid mineral resources presented here is a complete set of data from previous metallogenic research, combined with the national assessment data of China's mineral resource potential. This dataset is supported by previous results for 23 mineral species and geophysical and geochemical anomaly data in key mineral resources, and is based on the latest 90 three-level metallogenic areas. This study has determined 26 metallogenic belts of key solid mineral resources all around China, of which the main aspects are as follows:main inflection coordinates, area, typical deposits, important mineral resource potential (mineral species, accumulated proved reserves, predicted mineral resources), metallogenic prospect areas (the name of the prospect, main mineral species, main deposit type), newly discovered (or significant progress on) mineral fields and data on other aspects. The dataset is not only the collation and summary of the metallogenic prospect regionalization and resource assessment, but also the basis for scientific guidance of the national geological prospecting deployment.

Abstract:A detailed survey of geological disasters at the scales of 1:50000 in Yajiang city was conducted by Chengdu Center of China Geological Survey in 2010, with the intention of finding out the development characteristics and mechanisms of geological disasters in the Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture of Garze. The characteristics, distribution and geological conditions of the geological disasters in the region were identified by remote sensing, survey, engineering mapping and exploration. In order to further utilise these data, we processed them with standard data processing methods and a quality control system. The survey dataset could provide a geological basis for engineering geological research, disaster prevention and disaster reduction, as well as the development of regional disaster prevention planning.

Abstract:Nanling is a highly concentrated area of tungsten/scheelite ore in China. The Wayaokeng scheelite mining area is located in the Chong (yi)-(Da) yu-(Shang) yu tungsten and tin metallogenic belt, which is within Nanling tectonic belt. The Wayaokeng scheelite deposit is a skarn mineral deposit. Due to reasonable planning of mine production and continued processing of mining permits, the Ganzhou geological team of Jiangxi Province collected previous geological data, and carried out geological work. The resource reserve geological report was prepared with a number of data sets for the data tables for resource reserves by the Ganzhou geological team of Jiangxi Province. The dataset contains seven tables (.doc format). The standard, resource reserves and reserves of the scheelite in the mining area are tested and estimated by using the national standard, and the precision meets the requirement of resource reserve estimation. The dataset can be used as a reference for the assessment of the reserves of the same type of deposits in the surrounding area, and also has reference significance for the study of the classification and zoning of the deposits.
