Abstract:
Abstract:Although researches on the Emeishan large igneous province (ELIP) have been fruitful in recent years, some important problems remain controversial. This paper has dealt with such important problems as the eruption age, distribution, high-Ti and low-Ti basalts, the relationship between the layered intrusions, basalts and mineralization, the connection to mass extinction and mantle plume, and related issues. The solution of these problems is likely to play a key role in further studies of large igneous provinces.
