    Spatial Database of the 1∶500 000 Digital Geological Map of Southern Shanxi–Western Henan

    • The spatial database of the 1∶500 000 digital geological map of the southern Shanxi – western Henan Region was compiled based on the results of the 1∶250 000, 1∶200 000 and 1∶50 000 regional geological surveys of the Zhongtiaoshan area in the southern Shanxi Province and western Henan Province, among other research results in recent years, while having systematically investigated key geological problems. Guided by the theories of plate tectonics and geodynamics and using the MapGIS 6.5 platform, the current project has achieved high mapping accuracy and satisfactory quality, with a data size of approximately 476 MB. During the comprehensive mapping and research process, 118 pieces of isotopic chronological data and petro-geochemistry data of 409 samples have been obtained and thus the eras of key strata and magmatic rock have been updated. For the latest and most innovative achievement, a new scheme was proposed for the middle–upper Proterozoic stratigraphic subdivision and the tectonic division of the Qinling orogenic belt.
