Metallogenic regularity and potential analysis of silver deposits in Gansu Province

    • This paper is the result of mineral exploration engineering.
Objective This paper systematically studies the characteristics and on metallogenic regularity of silver mineral resources in Gansu Province, providing a theoretical support for prospecting prediction and further exploration deployment.
Methods Based on the research on metallogenic characteristics of silver mine in Gansu province, prediction models of distinguished types of silver mine are determined. Meanwhile, the potential silver resources are estimated through geological parameter volume methodology in MORPAS 3.0 system, the potential resources thus are analysed.
Results The silver resources in Gansu province is expected to increase by above 3 times. Hydrothermal, megma dissociation, VMS and SEDEX types are staple types of silver mineral in Gansu province and crucial types in future work.
Conclusions According to the predicting result, silver resources in Gansu province mainly exists in Beishan, Qilian, Longshoushan and western Qinling area. This assay suggests that prospecting deployment emphasis should be settled in Nanquan, Shidonggou, Sairiqian, Liushaogou area, meanwhile, evaluating works on associated silver minerals should be extraordinarily focused on during copper, lead-zinc, gold exploration in Nanjinshan, Huaniushan, Longshoushan, Baiyinchang, Jiaolongzhang, Daijiazhuang, Changba−Dengjiashan, Luoba, Bijiashan area etc.
