This paper is the result of geothermal resources survey engineering.
Objective Geothermal hot spring resources in Hebei Province are widely distributed and abundant, and geothermal resources have high development and utilization value as a clean and renewable energy source. Conducting a systematic investigation and evaluation of geothermal resources in counties and urban areas surrounding the capital can provide a scientific basis for Hebei Province to develop a wellness industry around the capital, aiding in achieving the goal of 'building a blessed land around Beijing where the elderly can enjoy care and leisure in Hebei.'
Methods Based on the geothermal geological measurements, hydrogeochemical measurements, and the collection of relevant data, the geothermal geological conditions and geothermal fluid characteristics of 14 counties and cities around the capital were systematically discussed, the general situation and distribution characteristics of geothermal resources in the capital were summarized, the occurrence conditions of tectonic convection and basin conduction geothermal resources were analyzed, and the geothermal resources and exploitation potential were evaluated.
Results The geothermal resources in the counties, cities, and districts of Hebei Province surrounding capital Beijing are mainly divided into three categories: zonal heat storage, layered heat storage, and composite heat storage, and the hydrochemical type of most geothermal fields in the zonal heat storage is SO4−Na water, and the geothermal fluid in the layered heat storage is mainly HCO3−Na water. The geothermal resources in this area are 2241.56×104 m3/a, and the recoverable heat is 5.58×1015 kJ/a, which is equivalent to 18.29×104 t/a of coal. Through the potential analysis, the geothermal resources of most counties and cities around the capital have great development potential, and there are 9 areas with great development potential, including Chicheng County and Zunhua City.
Conclusions The geothermal resources around capital Beijing are abundant, but the degree of development and utilization is low. It is necessary to further adopt policy guidance and industrial planning to promote the exploration, development and utilization of geothermal resources, providing resource guarantee for the establishment of the health care industry around the capital.
